2008 Kentucky State Junior Olympic
Three- Position Air Rifle Championship
(Sporter and Precision)
The state level Junior Olympic three –position air rifle competition is designed to qualify competitors to attend the National Junior Olympic Three- Position Air Rifle Championships. The top Sporter and Precision team will represent Kentucky in the 2008 J. O. Championship July 10-15 in Anniston, AL. The remaining top five competitors in each division can form an “all star” team to represent Kentucky in the 2008 NRA National Three- Position Air Rifle Championship.

Course of Fire:
The course of fire is one 3x20 (20 prone, 20 standing and 20 kneeling) for both Sporter and Precision events.
Eligibility:
Any student (no minimum age) currently enrolled in elementary, middle, high school or equivalent educational program such as home schooling. Teams must maintain team integrity. Teams will consist of 4 shooters from the same school or club team. No “all-star” teams. Individuals may compete for an at large invitation. Individual invitations will be given to approximately 30 nationally ranked individuals on a space available basis. These invitations will go the top 15 Sporter and top 15 Precision individual shooters who are not members of teams that qualify for the national championship, as determined from the nationally consolidated state results. These individuals will be notified by May 1, 2007.
Rules:
Current National Standard Three- Position Air Rifle Rules will apply. Both USA/ CMP and NRA rule books will be used. Upon rulings the most severe ruling will govern.
Awards:
Provided by USA Shooting- USA Shooting will provide a gold medallion to the top Sporter and Precision team; silver medallion to the 2nd place team and bronze medallion to the 3rd place team.
Entry Fees:
An entry fee of $20.00 per team plus $10.00 for each team member will be required. Individuals/ Teams wanting to be considered for the NRA Nationals will be subjected to an additional $5.50 NRA Fee per shooter.
Directions to Range:
From I-65 take exit #22, go east approximately 3.1 miles on Hwy. 231 (Scottsville Road), the gym is on the right.
Registration:
Registration will be a first come first serve basis with the early teams being squadded first. Registration/ check-in will be from 7:00 am- 8:30 am. Relay 1 needs to be on the firing line by 8:50 am with Relay 1 starting at 9:00 am. Relay 2 will start at 11:30 am and Relay 3 will start at 2:00 pm. There is room for 25 firing points for each relay.
